A Word About DVD Player Compatibility

Why is compatibility even an issue? Why are DVDs that you buy or rent at video stores compatible?

The answer is that the DVDs produced in Hollywood are stamped from glass masters, a process costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. They are mass-produced by actually stamping the video out with the actual discs themselves. So the video is "stamped out" and actually manufactured as part of the disc, rather than "burned" onto an existing disc.  For this reason, the compatibility rate is extremely high, and DVD player manufacturers assure that their players will work with these discs.

However, any service that transfers video to DVDs uses a "burning" process to burn the video to an existing blank disc - this is the only affordable method of transferring your video to DVD.  Various DVD players are "pickier" about the different disc dyes used, and not all DVD player manufacturers have complied with the newer technologies or with the DVD specifications (a result of rushing to get their players out on the market).

So what can be done to maximize compatibility of your DVD with your player?

The DVDs we produce are compatible with most all DVD players manufactured in the last few years.  However, since not all manufacturers have complied with the DVD specifications, neither we nor anyone else can guarantee compatibility on every player.  At 4everOnDVD.com, we are able to produce many different formats of DVD discs, which allows for the highest compatibility, and we also use high-quality media with the highest compatibility rate.   In addition to this, we research your DVD player model number to determine the most compatible format.  This is a special level of service that is exclusive to 4everOnDVD™, and that you won't find elsewhere!

For the above reasons, it is very important that you fill in the DVD player brand and model number on the online order form so that we can produce the best disc for your player.    In the very slim chance that you do happen to experience any playback issues with your player, we will be happy to re-burn your DVDs in a more compatible format for your player.*

We want you to be happy with your DVDs for many many years!
